Dept of Justice COPS Hiring Grants

GrantSmith Consulting (GSC) administered a Department of Justice federal grant on behalf of the Perry County Sheriff’s Office and Paoli Police Department, through the U. S. Department of Justice, COPS Hiring Program. This program funds 75% of the salary, up to $125,000, for a new entry-level deputy including fringe benefits over a three-year period. The Perry County Sheriff’s Office is one of 13 departments to receive such a grant in Indiana for 2020 and Paoil PD was one of four agencies to be awarded in 2022.

Currently, GSC is working with Dubois County Sheriff’s Office for the 2023 COPS Hiring Program, which will help fund one deputy.
